Hello again, how you all are doing in this deep monsoon? My Spotify plays me some of the most beautiful Tagore's songs and my eyes are kind of wet and my heart is full of voidness, so here I am writing another blog. Today I will talk about a great artist who influenced my art style a ton. He is none other than Jamini Roy. A true maestro. Jamini Roy was an Indian painter best known for combining traditional Indian and Western art styles to create unique and complex works. He was born on April 11, 1887, in Beliatore, West Bengal. He went on to study under Abanindranath Tagore at the Government College of Art in Kolkata at age 16. While there, he learned academic drawing and painting in the Western tradition. After graduating, Roy adopted the simple forms, flat colors, and humble paints of Bengali folk artists. The artist garnered impressive success throughout his career, ultimately receiving the Padma Bhushan award from the Government of India in 1954, which is the third-highest honor that can be bestowed upon a civilian. His works can be found in the collections of some of the best museums in the world. Jamini Roy took shelter in the lap of eternal peace on April 24, 1972, in Kolkata, India.

The thing is, I have recreated some of his work and you can print those as your wall decor, customized T-shirt, mug, and many more. DM us for more details. Goodbye for now, stay happy and very safe. See you soon.
